Ford launched its much anticipated Ford Figo Aspire in India at a starting price of Rs 4.89 lakh.
The sub-4-meter car segment is already crowded in India with the Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire, Hyundai’s Xcent, TATA Zest, and now Ford’s new offering leaves the consumer spoilt for choice.
The Figo Aspire will be available in three engine options: 1.2-liter Ti-VCT petrol, 1.5-litre TDCI and 1.5-litre Ti-VCT motor. The transmission versions on the car are five-speed manual transmission or a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The base model of the Figo Aspire powered by a1.2-liter Ti-VCT engine, churns out 88 PS @ 6300 rpm and 112 Nm @ 4000 rpm of peak torque.
The 1.5-liter TDCi has the capacity to produce 100PS of power and 215Nm of torque.
The third engine option is a 1.5-liter Ti-VCT, that produces 112 PS @ 6300 rpm and 136 Nm @ 4250 rpm of torque. This comes with a 6-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox.

Ford’s first compact sedan comes equipped with steering mounted audio controls, automatic climate control, height adjustable seats, ABS and airbags.
In fact, all the variants will get two airbags and the top end variant will have 6 airbags – a first in the segment.
The Figo Aspire will also have smart MyFord Dock for your smart devices and Ford’s own Sync and App Link feature that was seen on the Ecosport and the Fiesta in the past.
The MyFord Dock allows you to store, mount and charge your mobile phone, MP3 player or satellite navigation system, and to integrate these devices into the car’s entertainment system.
The Figo Aspire also has Ford MyKey technology that encourages responsible driving. Program your key to a restricted driving mode setting that promotes good habits such as increasing seat belt use, limiting vehicle top speeds and regulating audio volume.
