Lenovo calls the Vibe K4 Note a fresh start from its success with the K3 Note in 2015 and we’d like to give them the benefit of the doubt. The company talked about bringing Consumer Electronic Show (CES) 2016 to India and with the Vibe K4 Note they managed to bring a product that delivers on the experience factor as well.

Here’s what we think about the Lenovo Vibe K4 Note.

Phones ought to be more than just hardware bumps, every user wants an experience these days and it’s good to see Lenovo taking it on board and working things out with the Vibe K4 Note. The phone is not the slimmest at 9.1-mm but even weighing 158 grams, the phone feels a lot lighter than we expected.

The 5.5-inch phone has a curved back body that is focused on giving users a wide-viewing experience which comes in handy while gaming or watching movies and Full-HD resolution is just a bonus.

The company has managed to bring front-facing speakers (much like what Motorola has done) that are powered by Dolby Atmos technology. We’re not sure if the sound output of Dolby quality is achievable on a phone but we’d be glad if it does work out.

The construction of K4 Note revolves around poly-carbonate materials, laced with metallic finishing on the edges. It might be carrying the same form size as the K3 Note, but K4 Note feels bigger in your hand, much closer to the size of Qiku Q-Terra. You have the 13-megapixel sensor placed right above the fingerprint scanner at the back of the phone.

The other big talk of experience was covered by TheatreMax technology which has been enabled on the software side of Lenovo Vibe K4 Note. This feature enables Lenovo to offer an AntVR headset along with the phone for virtual reality (VR) experience on a budget.

If 2016 is truly meant to be the year of reckoning for VR then Lenovo wants to play its part. You can buy the Vibe K4 Note bundled with AntVR for Rs 12,499 which could be a great way to introduce yourself to the world of VR.

Lenovo has opted for a 13-megapixel camera at the back which is powered by Samsung’s ISOCELL technology, first seen with the Galaxy S5. The sensor variant, f 2.2 should manage to capture quick-time pictures with enough detail to please your imaging appetite.

Lenovo has opted for Wolfson Microelectronics, that as per the company has the capability to offer noise-cancellation on the K4 Note when using headphones. (More on the sound quality part of the phone in our review.)

Priced at Rs 11,999 Lenovo Vibe K4 Note is a smartphone that can match its predecessor and claim the budget phablet tag for 2016, even before we’ve seen the other contenders.
