BlackBerry is back with it’s new mid-range smartphone offering ‘Leap’. They unveiled the smartphone in India at a price tag of Rs 21,490.

The phone was showcased at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona earlier this year by the Canadian smartphone manufacturer.

BlackBerry Leap has a 5-inch HD (720x1280p, 294 PPI) display and is powered by a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor. There is also 2GB RAM and 16GB storage that can be expanded to 128GB with a micro SD card.

The BlackBerry Leap was designed specifically for the young power professionals who see their smartphone device as a powerful and durable productivity tool that also safeguards sensitive communications, while on-the-go.

Leap runs BlackBerry 10 OS and also supports Android apps. BlackBerry Leap comes with Amazon Appstore and BlackBerry World.

BlackBerry Leap sports a 2800mAh battery and supports 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy and EDR, GPS, FM radio and 4G (FD-LTE 1800MHz only).

For camera lovers there is a 8MP rear camera with auto-focus and for selfie lovers there is a 2MP fixed-focus front-facing camera.

BlackBerry has definitely taken a leap of faith with this smartphone considering their Passport and Classic did average business in India.
