Premium audio and TV maker Bang & Olufsen has revealed its latest flagship product. The BeoLab 90 is a masterpiece of acoustic craftsmanship – the path-breaking feature of these imposing high-end home audio loudspeakers is that they are capable of producing optimised sound output, no matter where they are placed in a room.
Each one of these 137 kg, 50-inch-high beasts, made of aluminium, fabric and oakwood, boasts of as many as 18 drivers – four woofers, seven midranges, and seven tweeters. These drivers are powered by 14 ICE power amps along with four additional Class D amps, all housed within each BeoLab 90 loudspeaker. The total maximum output of these monsters? A whopping 8,200 watts of vividly clear, life-like audio per channel!
BeoLab 90s employ Active Room Compensation technology and a 360-degree sound output design that negates the impact of the room, furniture, speaker placement as well as the nagging “listening sweet spot” inflexibility. Via a phone app, the user can choose to make (and then save) any location in a room that allows for optimal audio experience and sound staging.

BeoLab 90 is slated to debut in India – along with a few select countries – on 17 November 2015 to mark the 90th anniversary of Bang & Olufsen. The imposing and uniquely designed speakers – which have both a pentagonal as well as stacked rhombus like appearance – have been priced at a staggering £26,995 each. Deliveries are expected to start by the end of this year.
