Apple’s big launch event on Thursday was as expected giving us the new series of Apple MacBook Pro. But the biggest headlining feature of the new Macs is the Touch Bar as well as Touch ID built-in support.
Although, one gets the feeling that Apple has discounted adding a touchscreen display on the MacBook Pro, instead opting for the Touch Bar, which is also made from a Retina display, as was announced by Apple.
The new MacBooks are lighter, thinner than its predecessors, something that has become the norm with the upgrades.
Here’s a closer look at what the Touch Bar can do.
You can customise the features that you’d like to use on the Touch Bar. The feature also works in sync with the apps that are open on the MacBook Pro– be it iMovies, iTunes or even Final Cut Pro (FCP).
The MacBook Pro gets a 5K resolution display unit, that according to Apple has been made by LG. The notebook is powered by 6th generation Intel Core i5 and i7 processors, and paired with 8/16GB RAM and 256GB of SSD storage.
The new MacBook range is also the first from Apple to offer built-in support for Touch ID. This has been a regular option on the iPhone and iPad for the past few years, and now even Apple’s notebook gets it. As we all know, the Touch ID can be used to buy items via online websites.
In India, the new MacBook Pro series, starting from the 13-inch variant will cost upwards of Rs 1,29,900. While the Touch Bar option of the 13-inch MacBook Pro will retail in the country for Rs 1,55,900. Finally, the top-end MacBook Pro 15-inch model will be available for a whopping Rs 2,05,900.
