Apple Says More Than 50% of iPhones Now Running on iOS 13 

The latest report from Apple also mentions that over 30 percent of iPads are now running on iPadOS.

Apple has revealed that 55 percent of iPhones introduced in the past four years have been running the latest version of the company's mobile operating system iOS 13.

While, 38 percent of all iPhones introduced during the past four years were running iOS 12, 7 percent of the devices were having an earlier version of the application.

The company has also reported that 50 percent of all the iPhones are running on iOS 13, while 41 percent on iOS 12, 51 percent on iOS 13 and, 8 and 9 percent of devices with earlier versions.

This is in stark contrast to Google’s reach with Android 10 or even Android Pie, which as per the latest available data from the company, struggles to cross the 20 percent mark.

In addition to iOS 13, Apple has broken down the stats for iPadOS as well, both of which were launched at different times earlier this year. it also mentioned that the earlier versions running on the tablet.

“Additionally, 33 percent of all iPad devices on iPadOS 13, followed by 51 percent on iOS 12 and 16 percent on earlier releases.”

Coming back to iOS 13, the company has already released four updates since the initial release, mostly to fix various bug and along with that offer performance improvements.

Google’s track record with Android updates is mostly confined to the Pixel series, and the phones that are part of the revamped Android One program, which includes OnePlus, Nokia and Xiaomi Mi A series.

The latest report from Apple also mentions that over 30 percent of iPads are now running on iPadOS.

Other brands like Samsung, Xiaomi’s other devices and Vivo among others take their own sweet time to get the latest versions pushed to the existing devices. But hopefully, Google manages to change this trend, now that it has decided to ask all the new phones to ship with Android 10 from February 2020 onwards.
