Apple has rejigged its iPad Pro lineup with the 9.7-inch variant unveiled at the Apple event on Monday. In addition, the original 12.9-inch iPad Pro repertoire now includes a 256GB model for the first time.
Prices starting from Rs 49,900, the new iPad Pro will start selling in the country from early next month. However, make sure you get the Smart Keyboard (Rs 13,800) and the Apple Pencil (Rs 8,600) to get the best out of the device. This basically implies that you end up spending over Rs 72,000 for the 32GB WiFi model of the latest iPad Pro variant.
According to Apple, over 600 million PC users across the globe will be their intended target for the 9.7-inch iPad Pro.
Apple aims to utilise the popularity of the iPad and give users the convenience of a laptop-like portable device.
Hybrid PCs & iPad Pro Are the Future
As per recent reports, the forecast for hybrid PCs like the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 and iPad Pro is bright.
IDC’s recent quarterly tablet tracker estimates that by the year 2020, detachable tablets (2-in-1 convertibles) will represent 20 percent of all PCs shipped in the year 2020 compared to 5 percent in 2015.
However, these figures represent the European market. In India, tablets have been overshadowed by the emergence of big-sized phones. This paints a bleak picture of iPad Pro sales in India.
With the iPad Pro, you get a display with 2048x1536 pixel resolution. The tablet is equipped with a 12-megapixel iSight camera, capable of shooting 4K videos. Apple claims that the iPad Pro will last users for over 10 hours, but those claims can only be verified, once we try the product ourselves.
For Rs 49,900 the iPad Pro is cheaper than its big brother, but for Rs 72,000 you also have the option of a Windows device.
