Apple may delete all "WhatsApp Stickers" from the App Store as these apps have found to be violating the company's guidelines for developers, according to WABetaInfo – a fan website that tracks upcoming WhatsApp features.

The main reason why Apple could take the decision is that, "there are too many apps with similar behaviour and the design of these apps is the same," WABetaInfo tweeted on Sunday.

In October, WhatsApp announced in a blog-post that it is adding support for third-party developers to build sticker apps for WhatsApp for both Android and iOS users.

The messaging app offers stickers in the form of emojis, camera features, status and animated GIFs, and it is looking to add more features in the times to come. The update was made available in the latest 2.18.331 version of WhatsApp.

The feature has been a huge hit among WhatsApp users. The company had introduced a limited number of sticker packs, but now you can customise stickers of your own using third-party applications on the Google Play Store.

But with Apple, things work a little differently, something that the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) can vouch for. The Cupertino-based giant had privacy concerns regarding its DND app, that was supposed to control the number of spam calls/messages coming through to an iPhone user.

WhatsApp has announced that it is making the Stickers open to third-party developers to customise and use stickers of their own. The biggest advantage of this is that you don’t need to know any sort of intricate coding.

Rather, one just has to download an app and create your own stickers using thumbnails and images. These intricacies are likely to have alerted Apple, which feels there are too many apps offering the same feature. It’ll be interesting to see what iPhone users have to say if Apple does go ahead and remove the stickers.
