Airtel Rivals Jio With 4G VoLTE in India, Here’s How it Works
Airtel launches 4G VoLTE network in India, and it’s available to 4G users in Mumbai currently.
Reliance Jio’s monopoly in the 4G VoLTE segment is pretty much over. Airtel has finally rolled out its service that is catering to consumers in Mumbai at the moment. Airtel has highlighted that its 4G VoLTE network support is only available on select devices from brands like Samsung, Xiaomi and Apple among others.
The telecom operator has been put under intense pressure by the emergence of Reliance Jio, and they’re hopeful that a gradual roll-out will help them ease the competition in the country.
And for those of you, who’ve been waiting for other telecom companies to give you more options besides Jio, the time is ripe.
While Airtel has tried its best to match its data plans with Jio, yet the prospect of VoLTE enables them to lower their 4G plans even further.
Airtel VoLTE will be available on popular 4G/LTE enabled mobile devices, which must have a Airtel 4G SIM. There will be no additional data charges for VoLTE and calls will be billed as per existing plan or packs benefits.Airtel India
