The smartphone’s fingerprint sensor has been a quintessential hardware addition, and has ensured that your smartphones become more safer in terms of security.

Ever since its inception, smartphone makers have experimented with the placement of the fingerprint sensor.

From nonsensical placements like the one on the Samsung Note 8 to the more subtle and easily accessible placement like on the chin of the device.

Now, Chinese phone maker Vivo has launched smartphone the X21 in India at Rs 35,990 which comes with the fingerprint sensor in the display itself! Woah!

The technology works as the user touches the screen, after which the OLED display of the device gets activated.

The optical fingerprint sensor under the OLED display recognises and captures the reflected light from the unique fingerprint pattern which is processed by the sensor for authentication.

With the technology being rolled out one can expect this trend to catch on.

Talking about the other hardware aspects of the Vivo X21, it comes with a big 6.28-inch full HD+ edge-to-edge screen with just the notch at the top.

Inside powering the device is a Snapdragon 660 processor coupled with 6GB of RAM and for storage there’s 128GB of on-board space.

You can expect a good photography experience with this one thanks to a 12+5-megapixel dual camera setup on the back and a 12-megapixel front camera.

For back-up it comes with it 3200mAh non-removable battery that supports fast charging.

You will be able to buy the device via online retail channels starting 29 May 2018.
