Vivo, on Monday, 20 November, launched the V7 smartphone, which features a 24MP selfie and 16MP rear camera, for Rs 18,990. Available in Champagne Gold and Matte Black colours, the Vivo V7 will reach retail stores from November 25.
The device, with 4GB RAM and 32GB ROM, has 5.7-inch HD ‘FullView’ display, which is nothing but the 18:9 ratio screen, which has become a common sight nowadays. But with its selfie focused approach, the device comes with ‘Moonlight Glow’ and ‘Face Access’ features, that seem to have caught the eye of the buyers in the country.
Interestingly, V7 packs Snapdragon 450, which for this price tag feels under-powered, especially when you compare it with the Honor 9i or the Xiaomi MiA1.
Coming to India in late 2014, Vivo claims to have made in-roads into the Indian smartphone market, mostly by targeting the offline consumer base. They also have a manufacturing unit in Greater Noida which has helped them with the pricing of products.
According to the International Data Corporation's (IDC) latest ‘Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker, Q3 2017,’ Vivo is at fourth position in the country after registering a healthy 153 percent annual growth.
