Moto is back with the G-series with a new swanky styled smartphone dubbed the Moto G6. The G5 and G5 Plus didn’t get as much attention as their predecessors, which is why there are a lot of expectations with the the G6.

I got to play around with the new Moto and here’s my first impression of the Moto G6.

The Moto G6 doesn’t sport the conventional bezel-less display as we see with many of the phones that have been launched in the recent past. Moto have kept it simple yet made sure that they have offered the 18:9 aspect ratio. Motorola is calling these IPS displays the Max Vision. I call it “being too simple”.

The Moto G6 starts at Rs 13,999 for the 3GB RAM/32GB storage variant and will go up to Rs 15,999 for the 4GB RAM/64GB storage variant.

This pricing speaks to where they want to market these phones. The Xiaomi and Honor phone have something to worry about now.

It’s sports a full HD+ screen that’s performs equally well under direct sunlight.

It’s running on a Snapdragon 450 processor coupled with RAM options of 3G and 4GB. It also comes with a microSD slot that can increase the storage to up to 256 GB.

The Moto G6 comes with a 3000 mAh battery so the battery backup should not be an issue especially when it’s packing Fast Charging technology.

You will know more about the backup on this one once our full review for the device is out. The phone features dual cameras on the back (12 MP+5 MP) and a 16 MP front camera that works quite well in low light, thanks to the adaptive low light censor and better aperture rating of f/1.8.

Motorola still has the fingerprint censor placed on the front, as opposed to most brands who opt for a rear placed censor for better accessibility. However, the sensor on this one is rather oddly shaped in order to maintain the screen-to-body ratio. The slim shape can sometimes make it difficult to locate the censor.

In this price Range, the G6 is in direct competition with the likes of Mi’s RedMi Note 5 Pro, Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 and the Vivo V7.
