With all the new launches and concept cars getting introduced in this year’s Auto Expo, there was one hall which was not about new, but about the classics. Hall number 16 is the host to some of the most filmy rides in Bollywood.

From iconic bikes used in Dhoom, Bobby and Sholay, to famous Rampyari of Akayla, this section has six vehicles used by Bollywood.

The famous Bobby-bike, used by Raj to carry Bobby Braganza out of trouble, is a Rajdoot GTS, 1972, launched by Escorts in early-1970s as a “Grand Touring Sport” motorcycle.

The famous Sholay song, Ye dosti... was shot on Ariel 350cc, 1954, similar to the one displayed here.

The famous Rampyari driven by Amitabh Bachchan in Akayla, was a modified version of this 1966 Volkswagen Beetle. Inspector Vijay Verma sang Chal chal ri meri Raam Pyari... in a similar car.

A minivan similar to this Volkswagen T2 Kombi was used in the 1975 Deewar, a movie that established Amitabh Bachchan as the Angry Young Man.

We also spotted the Fiat that Rajesh Khanna drives in the song Chala jata hoon kisi ki dhun mein in Mere Jeevan Saathi. It’s a 1965 Fiat Spyder that was used in a movie.
