Mercedes-Benz has added the GLC SUV in India, making it the second model to be launched here in a month. The Mercedes-Benz GLC, is also their fifth product to have made its way to the Indian shores in 2016.

According to the company, the GLC SUV fills the gap between the Mercedes-Benz GLA and the GLE SUV.

Priced at Rs 50.7 lakhs, you get the 220d diesel variant, while the petrol model (GLC 330) will be available for Rs 50.9 lakhs (both ex-showroom Pune). At this price point, the GLC is competitively placed to rival the Audi Q5 and the BMW X3.

2. Maruti Temporarily Ceases Production Due to Fire at Manesar Plant

Maruti in a statement on 30 May said that it is temporarily suspending production at its facilities in Maneswar and Gurgaon, after a fire broke out at the factory of its component supplier, Subros Ltd.

Priced at Rs 9.5 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi), Mahindra has unleashed its second electric vehicle, the eVerito. Most of us expected the car to be priced in the 8-lakh bracket, but it seems the government subsidy on e-vehicles hasn’t come to their fore.

Charging the eVerito at home is an option too, but it takes way too long (more than 8 hours). Hassle-free driving is aided by direct drive transmission, which eliminates the use of gear and clutch while driving.

4. Triumph’s Bonneville Range Boosted in India by 1200cc Thruxton R

British motorcycle brand Triumph has officially announced the Thruxton R cafe racer for the Indian market, priced starting from Rs 10.9 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). With this, Triumph has fulfilled its Bonneville commitments in the country.

The Thruxton R was first showcased at the Auto Expo 2016 this year but the company refrained from divulging its price back then.

The Thruxton R launched in India packs a 1200 cc parallel twin engine, which can touch up to 96 bhp at 6750-rpm as per the company. The cafe racer is also capable of raking 112-Nm of peak torque at 4950 rpm.
