4. Buying a New Car Is Set to Get Expensive in 2016

Honda Cars India Limited (HCIL) announced that it will be hiking the prices across its entire range of models in India by up to Rs 16,000, effective from January 1, 2016.

According to the company, the decision has been made to offset rising input costs in the production of the vehicles currently offered by the Japanese automaker.

The decision to hike prices from 2016 comes after a series of announcements by Tata, Maruti Suzuki, General Motors, Hyundai, Toyota, Skoda, Nissan, Renault, Datsun, BMW and Mercedes – that prices will be hiked across their entire model range effective January 1, 2016.
