The Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo edition comes with a black roof on two body colours - red and white. The interiors have black leatherette upholstery with Monte Carlo branding. The three-spoke steering wheel is flat-bottomed and has red stitching on black leather. The pedals are made of stainless steel for a racing feel.

It gets a blacked-out grille, smoked lamps, a black boot spoiler and an all black dashboard. The infotainment system has been updated to include a 6.5 inch touchscreen system with Apple Car Play, Android Auto and Mirror Link.

Other standard features in the Monte Carlo edition include climate control with rear AC vents, daytime running lamps, two airbags, stability control, ABS and auto-dimming mirrors.

There are no mechanical changes to the Skoda Rapid. It comes with a 1.6 litre petrol engine that puts out 105 PS of power and 153 Nm of torque and a 1.5 litre diesel engine that puts out 110 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque.

The launch of the Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo edition coincides with the launch of the Hyundai Verna - one of its biggest rivals in the segment, besides the Honda City, Maruti Ciaz and Volkswagen Vento.
