It’s a Porsche that is as raw as it can get. The 2018 Porsche 911 GT3 is targetted at pure-blooded enthusiasts who love that thrill of driving a machine with raw power. The Porsche 911 GT3 is priced at Rs 2.31 crore in India.

Unlike the regular Porsche 911 or the Turbo S, this car comes without a turbo-charged engine. It is powered by a naturally-aspirated, six-cylinder engine (flat-six), that puts out 500 PS of power and 460 Nm of torque. That’s pretty much in line with that old adage - ‘There’s no replacement for displacement’.

It comes with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive only. It can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in about 3.2 seconds.

The 2018 edition of the Porsche 911 GT3 comes with a few design enhancements which aid the aerodynamics. It has been made a lot lighter with more use of carbon fibre in the body work. (Lighter the car, the faster it goes.)

What differentiates the 911 GT3 from the regular 911 is the design of the front bumper, rear bumper and that huge spoiler on the back. It features a pneumatic front suspension, which can raise the car by about 30mm to tackle nasty speedbreakers. That’s a feature that would be handy in India, and make the car more drive-able on Indian roads. Otherwise, such supercars are usually not cars that can be driven daily.

The car can be customised for the race track with carbon fibre seats instead of the Alcantara leather ones, a full roll cage, fire extinguisher and racing harness.

The Porsche 911 GT3 will compete with the Mercedes AMG GTR and the Nissan GT-R in India.
