Pagani, the famous Italian supercar maker revealed its super rare and super expensive Zonda HP Barchetta Special edition rather silently at this year's Goodwood festival of speed. How rare? Pagani will make only three such models and all are already sold (of course). Coming to the expensive part, it will cost a whopping 15 Million euros - that is more than Rs 120 crores!

So what does more than Rs 120 crore get you? The HP Barchetta is powered by a 6.0-litre twin turbo V12 that makes 789bhp of power. The V12 is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox and has a mechanical locking differential. The HP Barchetta is a rear-wheel drive car. All of this on a car that weighs only 1,250 kg.

The huge displacement, manual gearbox and rear wheel drive is all focused to attract true enthusiasts (with unlimited money, of course).

The car carries the suspension setup from the extreme Huyara BC - a four wheel independent double wishbone suspension with an upper rocker arm and coil springs as well as adjustable shock absorbers.

The car features massive brakes - all four brakes have 380m ventilated discs with six-piston calipers in the front and four piston calipers at the back.

Pagani is known for its details. The best example on this super rare Zonda are the 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels that are made with forged aluminium and have different colour inlays on either sides.

What needs to be appreciated is that the Zonda design, 19 years old is still relevant.

The rear wheel fairings are carbon fibre and this car gets a roof scoop without an actual roof - it does have a wraparound windscreen though.

The best part about this car, however, is that even after 19 years since it was first revealed, the Zonda design is still relevant. The way Pagani keeps making more limited editions and keeps tweaking the design bits to adapt to the current trends to keep the old design fresh speaks volumes about the spirit of the car maker, not taking away from the fact that the design was so ahead of time that it still looks gorgeous even in 2018.
