Priced at Rs 9.5 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi), Mahindra has unleashed its second electric vehicle, the eVerito.

Most of us expected the car to be priced in the 8-lakh bracket, but it seems the government subsidy on e-vehicles hasn’t come to their fore.

Snapshot

Key Highlights of the Mahindra e-Verito

  • Mahindra eVerito is the first electric sedan from Mahindra
  • eVerito can be charged in 1 hour 45 minutes (0-80 percent) at Mahindra’s Fame charging stations, which is good enough to drive up to 110-kms
  • Its battery back-up feature, ‘Revive’ lets the eVerito charge enough to run an extra 8-km
  • Running cost of an eVerito is as low as Rs 1.15/km (as claimed by the company)
  • Wider charging infrastructure that are accessible across the country
  • e-Verito is available in 3 variants

Charging the eVerito at home is an option too, but it takes way too long (more than 8 hours). Hassle-free driving is aided by direct drive transmission, which eliminates the use of gear and clutch while driving.

The fact that eVerito doesn’t rely on an engine to run, ensures that the buyer is assured of low-cost maintenance, something that’s bound to work for consumers in the foreseeable future.

It remains to be seen as to how many charging stations are put in place for the eVerito in order to strengthen the viability of an e-vehicle in the country. Interestingly, Mahindra also claims that the eVerito can hold its fort when placed in an inclined position, the first of its kind feature for an electric vehicle in the country.

Mahindra will start selling the eVerito in Delhi first, following which it will be made available across cities like Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Nagpur in the coming months.
