Hero has upgraded its commuter-segment bikes in India for 2018 which will be launching early next year. The two-wheeler company, ever since its separation from Honda, has been exploring the idea of branding its bikes in line with the parent company’s identity, and with Super Splendor, Passion Pro and Passion X Pro in their kitty, they’re surely getting there.
We still don’t know how much these bikes will cost, but it’s safe to estimate that the range of bikes announced in the sub-150cc segment are likely to be priced around Rs 60,000.
As these bikes garner attention, here’re some details on the three bikes.
Hero claims that by moving from the regular 100cc engine, the Passion Pro series gets more power and torque output at 7.4PS and 7NM respectively.
The Super Splendor, on the other hand offers 11.4PS of power and 11NM of torque. Interestingly, Hero feels that unlike a 110cc bike, the bigger engine variant doesn’t need disc brakes (front or rear) at all.
We’re almost coming to the end of 2018, and we still have to live with the fact that entry-level commuter bikes aren’t anywhere close to being safe for the riders.
