What’s New With the Ford Endeavour?

Ford has now introduced a 2.2-litre Titanium-spec manual transmission Endeavour variant as well.

Given that there are new competitors in the price segment that the Ford Endeavour operates in, it had to spruce itself up to fend off the competition. Mahindra has just launched the Alturas G4 in the same price segment, albeit a couple of lakhs cheaper and then there are vehicles like the Skoda Kodiaq and Isuzu MUX that have also come in. Of course, the segment leader continues to be the Toyota Fortuner that sells over 1,300 units a month.

The Ford Endeavour is the second best-seller in the segment with sales of about 500-600 units monthly. It was already pretty feature rich, but it’s got even more now.

The new Endeavour gets an improved SYNC 3 system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also gets full keyless entry and push-button ignition. Besides that, the interior colour scheme has been tweaked, while the use of leather continues. Externally there’s hardly any difference except to the grille and minor tweaks to the fog-lamp bezel.

All variants get six airbags, ABS, traction control as standard. The top-spec 3.2 litre Titanium 4x4 variant gets seven airbags. The entry-level model is also a fully-spec’d model. Ford has also added an automatic boot opening feature (like the Skoda Kodiaq and Volkswagen Tiguan), where you can wave your foot under the bumper to open it.

The Endeavour 3.2 gets the same five-cylinder diesel engine that puts out 197PS of power and 470Nm of torque. The 2.2 litre four-cylinder puts out 160PS of power and 385 Nm of torque. It’s more fuel efficient at a rated 14.2 kmpl.
