Ducati Diavel 1260 launched in India, Prices Start at Rs 17.7 Lakh

The new Ducati superbikes will be imported as completely built units from Thailand for the Indian market.

Ducati India has taken the wraps off its latest and one of the most powerful motorcycles in its line-up, the Ducati Diavel 1260 and the Diavel 1260S.

The bikes were showcased at EICMA last year and replaces the existing Ducati Diavel.

Where the Ducati Diavel 1260 has been priced at Rs 17.70, the Diavel 1260S comes in at Rs 19.25 lakh.

The new Ducatis have been built completely from the ground up including the chassis, steering geometry, suspension and a few more additions. It is slated to come to India as completely built units from Thailand.

It sports a new tubular steel Trellis frame with an aluminium swing arm. Both the Ducati superbikes here offer 244 Kg kerb weight and come with 17-litre fuel tank capacity. Wheelbase on offer is 1,600mm with a seat height of 780mm.

The bikes feature the same 1,262cc L-twin engine that powers the new Ducati Multistrada and the Xdiavel.

The all-new Diavel 1260 comes with the new Testastretta DVT L-Twin 1262 cc engine, capable of putting out 159 PS of maximum power at 9,500 rpm and 129 Nm of peak torque at 7,500rpm. The engine has been mated to a 6-speed transmission which also offers a slipper, wet multi-plate clutch with hydraulic control.

The bike also comes with three riding modes — Urban, Touring and Sport. Cornering ABS is a standard offering.
