Zenith Irfan is female, Pakistani and a biker. An unconventional passion for a woman, Irfan’s determination to follow her heart is admirable and inspiring. She began her travels in Pakistan’s capital in Islamabad and rode to Muzaffarabad, the capital of Pakistan-administered Kashmir.

In August 2015, she rode from Lahore in North Pakistan to the Khunjerab Pass on the border with China. She has also been to Deosai Plains and Chilas, where people threatened to hurt her with rocks.

When I was on the road, it was like a coming together of my mind, body, and soul. I felt free. I could meditate properly. I really felt different, very emotional and liberated.

Irfan’s younger brother bought her the first bike in 2013. It took her some time to get accustomed to it but once she did, she never looked back.

Obviously, the critics weren’t about to be tolerant or generous. She was met with a stereotypical ‘girls don’t ride bikes.’ However, Irfan defied the critics, dressing like a man to pursue her passion.
