About a year ago, 6GB RAM in a phone was considered phenomenal. Only a few flagship devices came with 6GB of RAM. However, since we are in 2018 and technology becomes obsolete within days, phones with higher RAM options are now commonplace.

Today, you can get 6GB of RAM from phones costing as low as Rs 13,990. Most flagship phones still house 6GB RAM and it is still a good specification, while some now come with 8GB as well.

Here are five phones under Rs 30,000 that offer 6GB of RAM:

Price: Rs 29,999

The Zenfone 5z was launched as Asus's answer to the OnePlus 6. With a notched 6.2-inch display and glass back, the Zenfone 5z is quite a looker. Although the Zenfone was not able to beat the OnePlus 6, the phone is not a bad option if you are looking for a 6GB RAM phone.

It comes with a top-of-the-line Snapdragon 845 processor. It also comes with an 8GB RAM option. The phone also has three storage options: 64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB that can be further expanded.

Price: Rs 16,999

The second-cheapest option in the list, the Redmi Note 5 Pro from Xiaomi has taken the mid-range smartphone market by storm in the country. The phone has among the best specifications and performance in its price segment.

The metal body and thin bezels make the phone look good. It has a 5.5-inch full HD+ display with curved edges.

The Redmi Note 5 Pro is the first phone to come with a Snapdragon 636 processor. It comes in two RAM options - a 4GB and a 6GB variant. According to Xiaomi, the LPDDR4 RAM contributes to a 35 percent better performance than earlier RAM chips.

Given the Rs 16,999 price, this might be the most practical option to go with in this list. However, Xiaomi's OS, MIUI is something that might make people reconsider.

Price: Rs 23,990

Another phone with a notched display, the Oppo F7 houses a 9.23-inch Full HD+ display with a 19:9 aspect ratio.

The F7 comes with a plastic body, the diamond inspired back panel is made of fibre which looks good. The amount of plastic used makes the phone look cheap.

The battery backup is good, with the 3,400 mAh battery surviving about 1.5 days on moderate usage. The Oppo F7 runs its proprietary Color OS 5, which is based on Android 8.1. The UI is clean with bright, poppy icons and colours but we prefer stock Android.

The phone houses a MediaTek Helio P60 chipset with 6GB RAM, which is considered as the inferior alternative to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processors.

However, the phone functions well and provides a smooth, lag-free experience.

The phone has a single camera on the back, but the experience is not as good. The portrait mode blurs randomly and the Oppo F7's f/1.8 aperture doesn't help. Another drawback is that the phone doesn't support fast charging. Unless you are really desperate, this is the least recommended option in the list.

Price: Rs 23,999

Honor Play is the gaming phone from the Huawei sub-brand. Its GPU turbo feature is used for a better frame rate and smooth gaming experience. However, it’s not much different from the Honor flagship, the Honor 10.

The Honor Play has been launched starting at Rs 19,999 for the 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage variant and Rs 23,999 for the 6GB/64GB variant.

This one also comes with a notched 6.3 display with a rather unusual 19.9:9 aspect ratio. The display is a IPS LCD panel. The panel is bright enough for any conditions. The 409 ppi pixel density makes the display look much better than most of the phones in this price range.

The phone looks good with its glass-like fibre back, with a diamond finish. This design really makes the RealMe 1 stand out among its competition. The phone uses a MediaTek Helio P60 chipset and comes in three RAM options - 3GB, 4GB and 6GB.

The phone has a single 13-megapixel AI integrated camera at the back, which is also decent and is capable of clicking similar photos to some phones with dual shooters.
