In his very first reaction since the counting day on 11 March, Rahul Gandhi accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of misusing money for power – and for “stealing the mandate” to form governments in Goa and Manipur.

The Congress Vice-President recognised “the need for structural changes” in the party. On the BJP’s success in Uttar Pradesh, he said the Congress would continue to fight against their ideology.
