Team India all rounder Hardik Pandya sustained a groin injury during the ICC World Cup semifinal against New Zealand on Tuesday, 9 July. However, he came back on the field soon after, much to the relief of Indian fans, especially because Kohli and co. have gone into the match only with five bowlers.

Pandya was seen limping off the field after he bowled five overs, conceding 21 runs without any success. He however came back and was soon brought back into the bowling attack by Kohli.

Pandya’s role in India’s scheme of things assumes a greater importance now, as the team management has preferred Dinesh Karthik over Kedar Jadhav, leaving the team with just five bowling options.
