Akshay Kumar, who waved the tricolour upside down at Lords during the ICC Women’s World Cup final between India and England, has now tweeted an apology for violating the tricolour’s code of conduct and has even taken the spirited photograph off Twitter.

TheToilet- Ek Prem Katha actor did share a happy moment with the women who have clearly started a revolution in our cricket crazy nation. Kyunki haar ke aage jeet hai.

Akshay had earlier tweeted a video update saying that he ran barefoot on the platform with excitement as he boarded a train from Leeds to London, to make it in time to watch team India bat its way to the end of the ICC Women’s World Cup 2017 final match. But his shoes weren’t all that he forgot in his excitement.

When Akshay finally reached the Lords stadium, he got busy waving the national flag while cheering for the girls. Ironically, Akshay the patriot, forgot to check if he was holding the national flag correctly, as he waved it in all its glory.

It’s a mistake he’s been getting trolled for, but it’s hard to blame him given the nail biting finish. The flag fiasco apart, not just Akshay, but the whole country was rooting for the Indian team and the nine run defeat at Lord’s was definitely a bummer.
