Team India skipper Virat Kohli is the only Indian athlete to find a place in the Instagram sports ‘rich list’ in 2019. At number nine, Virat is the only cricketer among the top 16 names on the list.
The Indian skipper who maintained his top position in the latest ICC Test rankings earns a whopping £158,00 (Rs 1,357,340) per Instagram post, as per Instagram scheduling tool Hopper HQ.
The list is headed by Portugal captain and Juventus maverick Cristiano Ronaldo who earns a whopping £784,000 per post. Brazil football sensation Neymar Jr is next on the list who earns £580,000, followed by Lionel Messi with £521,000.
The list also includes names of legendary English footballer David Beckham, Gareth Bale, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Luis Suarez.
Meanwhile, Virat Kohli is all set to lead a young Indian team in their upcoming series against West Indies while MS Dhoni made himself unavailable for the series.
Kohli had said earlier that he agreed on playing the series against the Windies to lift the morale of his teammates after their semifinal loss against the Kiwis. The Indian skipper was expected to be rested for the series, but was included in all the three squads announced for the tour.
