Super Sunday for India in Gold Coast on Sunday, with Gold medals coming in weightlifting and shooting.
Punam Yadav bagged India’s fifth weightlifting Gold medal at the 2018 CWG with a dominating performance in the 69 kg category. Yadav, a Bronze-medallist in the 63kg category at the 2014 Glasgow edition, lifted a personal best of 222kg (110kg+122kg) to claim the top spot ahead of England's Sarah Davies, who finished with 217kg (95kg+122kg).
Soon after, India won the first medal on offer in the shooting arena, with 16-year-old Manu Bhaker bagging a Gold with a Games record score of 240.9. Heena Sidhu, India’s stalwart in the event, fought her way from near elimination to bag the Silver.
