Chennai Super Kings defeated Rajashthan Royals by 4 wickets in what turned out to be one of the most thrilling encounters in this season’s IPL on Thursday, 11 April.

The match saw CSK captain MS Dhoni, one of the coolest heads in the business, lose his cool and storm his way on to the field. It all started with the 4th ball of the last over when the umpire raised his hand to signal a no-ball.

What followed, was a total mess.

The no-ball buzzers went off but the square-leg Umpire refused to recognise the call. This lead to CSK skipper storming the field in absolute anger and confronting the two umpires. Ajinkya Rahane, Ben Stokes and Steve Smith also got involved in the heated conversation.

Twitter was abuzz with reactions, and everything had their say on the matter. Here’s what the cricket fraternity had to say.

Sourav Ganguly: What a tournament this IPL is.... unbelievable matches ... yesterday Mumbai and now CSK.. only better competition is the World Cup.

Michael Vaughan: This is not a good look for the game ... No place at all for a Captain to storm onto the pitch from the Dugout...!!

Irfan Pathan: Dramatic last over that. Seen it all.

Lisa Sthalekar: Stokes again will have nightmares of bowling the final over in India. Meanwhile great striking by Mitch Santner.

Harsha Bhogle: Among the firsts for me in today's game was the sight of Dhoni walking out onto the ground. As Michael Vaughan said, it is something he will realise he shouldn't have done.

Aakash Chopra: Umpiring standards have been pretty low in this IPL and that was a no-ball given and reversed. Enough to feel crossed and miffed. But the opposition captain has no right to walk out on the pitch after being dismissed. Dhoni set a wrong precedent tonight.

Vijaylakshmi A: It was super cool to see my captain lose his cool.. My dear Midas.. you rock

Ayaz Memon: Unedifying to see MS Dhoni lose his cool the way he did in the last over, storming on to the field to demand a no-ball. Even if right in his assessment of the delivery, wrong to be so demonstrative IMO.

Albie Morkel: Unbelievable game.. @ChennaiIPL

Tymal Mills: Mad last over that.

"MS Dhoni, the Chennai Super Kings captain, was fined 50 percent of his match fees for breaching the VIVO Indian Premier League’s (IPL) Code of Conduct during his team’s match against Rajasthan Royals at Jaipur.
