Warner Wins Heart, Gifts His Player of Match Award to a Young Fan

Warner was adjudged Player of the Match for his 15th ODI ton that helped Australia register a 41-run win vs Pakistan

David Warner shut all trolls and boos with his outstanding innings against Pakistan on Wednesday. Not only did the Australian opener led Australia to victory, he won hearts with a lovely gesture after the match.

The 32-year-old gifted his player of the match award to a young Australian fan, who he spotted at the venue which was outnumbered by Pakistan supporters.

The young kid cheering with his father in the stands was overwhelmed by Warner’s gesture at the end of the match as the southpaw signed player of the match award before gifting it away to him.

“We were just waving the flag and he just came over and gave it to us,” the young fan expressed how awesome he felt while speaking to the ICC

Warner was adjudged Player of the Match for his 15th ODI century that helped Australia register a 41-run win against Pakistan and return back to winning ways after loss against New Zealand.

It was Warner’s 107 of 111 deliveries that help Australia post a 300 plus target,

Warner is making a comeback to international cricket after serving his one-year ban, owing to his ball tampering scandal involvement.

Warner spoke at the press conference after the game, talking about his journey over the last year. He thanked his wife Candice and two daughters for their support in the tough period.

“I was always coming back to international cricket if selected. This century means a lot as a batsman.”
