Twitter Hails Team India as They Make it 7-0 Over Pak in World Cup

Twitter celebrated India’s victory over Pakistan in the 2019 ICC World Cup.

India registered their seventh World Cup win over Pakistan in World Cup history as they won by 89 runs via the Duckworth-Lewis method on Sunday, 16 June.

Set to chase 337 for victory, Pakistan were 166/6 after 35 overs when rain came down and forced the game to be stopped. When the game restarted an hour later Pakistan’s revised target was 212 from 40 overs. This meant, they needed another136 off 30 balls.

Indian bowlers then ensured they gave nothing away in the last 5 overs and at the end, won by a comfortable margin and extended their unbeaten run in this World Cup.

Earlier in the game, Pakistan skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed won the toss and elected to field first. Rohit Sharma scored 140 off 113 deliveries and added 136 runs with KL Rahul (57).

Virat Kohli’s 77 and Hardik Pandya’s late cameo of 26 helped India reach a mammoth 336/7 after 50 overs.

India play Afghanistan next Saturday on 22 June, while Pakistan take on South Africa next on 23 June, Sunday.
