Australia defeated England by 64 runs to become the first team to book a place in the semi-finals of the 2019 World Cup. Hosts England had a stiff target to chase after Australia posted 285/7 in their 50 overs.

The Eoin Morgan-led side lost early wickets and were tottering at 53 for 4 when Ben Stokes came out to bat. He combined with Jos Buttler (25) to stitch a 71-run stand before Buttler was dismissed with the team score on 124 in the 28th over.

The turning point in the match however came when Mitchell Starc cleaned up Ben Stokes for 89 (off 115 balls) with a stunning yorker, shattering England’s hopes of winning the game.
