Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane says Cristiano Ronaldo will play his first match of the season after recovering from an injury received in the final of the European Championship.

Zidane says Ronaldo will play on Saturday when Madrid hosts Osasuna in the third round of the Spanish league.

Ronaldo has been sidelined since injuring his left knee in a collision with France’s Dimitri Payet during the Euro 2016 final on July 10. Portugal won, beating France 1-0 in added time.

Madrid won the UEFA Super Cup and the opening two rounds of the Spanish league without Ronaldo.

Zidane says, “We are happy to have him back and we will try to keep him well. This is his first match of the season, 60 days since his last one.”
