1. Sunrisers beat RCB by 8 Runs to Win IPL Finale

Sunrisers Hyderabad bowlers put up an incredible performance to ruin Virat Kohli’s fairytale season beating Royal Challengers Bangalore by 8 runs in a high-octane summit clash walking away with their maiden Indian Premier League trophy.

In a battle between IPL’s best batting and bowling line-ups, the Orange Army came up trumps despite initial blitzkrieg from Chris Gayle and Kohli, defending their total of 208 for seven by restricting the home team to 200 for seven.

It was David Warner’s batting and astute captaincy complemented by some inspirational death overs bowling by Mustafizur Rahaman (1/37 in 4 overs) and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (0/25 in 4 overs) that clinched the issue.

2. Me and AB Getting Out Quickly was a Big Blow: Kohli

Virat Kohli was dignity personified in defeat but did admit that he did not feel good finishing second best as he termed his and AB de Villiers dismissal as the “big blow” in their defeat at the hands of Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Definitely proud of the way we played this season. This was for people of Bengaluru. They have supported in worst of seasons. We would have been loved to be on other side of result. We went for a few but wicket was nice. Me and AB getting close to each other was a big blow. Had I stayed with AB a little longer, it would have been different.

4. Wawrinka and Murray Into Last Eight

Perennial grand slam title contenders Stan Wawrinka and Andy Murray were joined in the French Open quarter-finals by two unfamiliar faces on Sunday.

Murray’s 7-6(9) 6-4 6-3 then beat John Isner though the second seed had to save three set points in the opener before extending his career record over the towering American to 6-0 in clinical fashion.

6. Lewis Hamilton Wins Monaco Grand Prix

Lewis Hamilton celebrated his first win of the Formula One season at the Monaco Grand Prix on Sunday after Mercedes told team mate Nico Rosberg to move aside and Red Bull wrecked Daniel Ricciardo’s chances.

While fortune finally favoured the triple world champion after a run of bad luck, championship leader Rosberg finished seventh -- 93.2 seconds behind -- and saw his lead cut to 24 points after six of 21 races.

Australian Daniel Ricciardo was runner-up, a botched second pitstop destroying his chances after he started on pole position for the first time, with Mexican Sergio Perez third for Force India.
