Pro Kabaddi League 2017: UP Yoddha Hammer Telugu Titans 31-18

In a thrilling encounter UP Yoddha won their debut match in Vivo Pro Kabaddi League as they beat Telugu Titans 31-18.

Telugu Titans lost their third match on their trot as their dismal start to the season continued. Telugu Titans were let down badly by their defence as they could score just four points. Rahul Chaudhari scored seven points for Telugu Titans but it wasn’t enough.

UP Yoddha star man Nitin Tomar opened his team account in the first minute with a raid. Telugu Titans scored two quick raid points to lead 2-1 after three minutes. Nitin Tomar scored another raid point to level the game at 3-3 after four minutes.

UP Yoddha scored two points in a minute to lead 6-4 in the eighth minute. Telugu Titans leveled the game at 6-6 after 10 minutes.

Rahul Chaudhari looked in good form in the first half and led the Titans’ raid points. UP Yoddha led 10-8 after 15 minutes with Rishank Devadiga scoring three raid points.

The pendulum swung both ways, as it was an evenly contested first half. Rakesh Kumar scored his first raid point in the 19th minute as Telugu Titans trailed 10-11. The first half ended with UP Yoddha leading 12-11.

UP Yoddha scored the first point of the second half to lead 13-11 after 22 minutes. A super raid by Surender Singh in the 27th minute to give UP Yoddha 17-13 lead. UP Yoddha extended their lead to five points led 19-14 after 29 minutes. In the 30th minute, UP Yoddha inflicted the first all out to lead 23-14.

With just over five minutes left on the clock, Rahul Chaudhari scored a raid point as Telugu Titans trailed 17-26.

UP Yoddha all but wrapped the game with a super tackle in the 37th minute as they led 27-18. Nitin Tomar scored with a two-point raid in the 39th minute as UP Yoddha led 30-18. UP Yoddha ran out comfortable winners in the end as they won 31-18.
