Preity Zinta reacted to the Mumbai Mirror report that accused her of lashing out at the Kings XI Punjab coach, Sanjay Banger, after her team’s narrow one-run defeat against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Monday.
The co-owner of the Punjab franchise posted a long Facebook post ranting about how everything reported was a lie. She started her post by directly attacking the journalist Vijay Tagore and accused him of slandering her.
A perfect example of How Journalists LIE BLATANTLY & should be sued for DEFAMATION! For the record I do have manners & I did go to school so Mr. Vijay Tagore either apologize or bring forward your so called Source as you are guilty of slander.
She however did agree to the fact that she walked up to team mentor Virender Sehwag and coach Sanjay Banger after the match and spoke to them for exactly 20 seconds. But Preity insisted that she did not disrespect or abuse the Kings XI Punjab coach.
The Bollywood actress also hit back at the report, accusing the journalist of writing it with a sexist undertone.
Also I’m amazed at the chauvinist & sexist undertone to your article. Just because I am a woman you presume me to be a bimbo & know nothing about Cricket even though I have been working in this sport and business for the past 9 years.
In the end, Preity also objected to the picture that was used in the article and termed it a B-grade masala flick.

Earlier, Mumbai Mirror had published a report that Preity stormed the team dug-out and lashed out at the coach in the presence of players
and support staff.
She was reported to be upset with Bangar’s choice of batting order in Monday’s encounter, which left her team languishing at the bottom of the Indian Premier League table.
It was a long monologue with a four-letter word being used liberally. Everybody was stunned as Preity repeatedly threatened to sack Sanjay. Nobody spoke a word. Sanjay cut a sorry figure, which was sad because he was surrounded by young players and support staff he is supposed to lead.
