IPL 2019 Countdown: Mumbai Indians Begin Pre-Season Training Camp

The three-time champions face Delhi Capitals in their IPL 2019 opener at the Wankhede Stadium on 24 March.

Three-time Indian Premier League (IPL) champions Mumbai Indians kicked off their pre-season training camp ahead of IPL 2019 in Navi Mumbai on Tuesday, 12 March.

A series of tweets on the team’s official Twitter handle confirmed the beginning of their preparations for the 12th edition of India’s annual T20 extravaganza, in which Mumbai are the joint-most successful franchise alongside Chennai Super Kings.

Pandya brothers and key all-rounders Hardik and Krunal were the highest-profile players to join the camp, is being held at the Reliance Corporate Park in Ghansoli, from day one.

According to a senior Mumbai Indians official, the other players who have joined the camp are off-spinner Jayant Yadav, leg-spinner Rahul Chahar, pacer Barinder Sran, Rasikh Salam, Mitchell McClenaghan and wicket-keeper Ishan Kishan.

It is learnt that the squad will continue its training program at the Navi Mumbai facility over the weekend, and are tentatively scheduled to move to Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai from 17 March.
