IPL Playoffs: Eliminator
Delhi Capitals take on the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the elimination match of IPL 2019 playoffs at the Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Vizag.
Both sides will be missing the services of their talismanic foreign recruits who have flown back for national duty ahead of the World Cup. Hyderabad will miss Australian David Warner and English Jonny Bairstow, while Delhi will be without the service of Kagiso Rabada.
Delhi have been one of the top sides in this IPL edition. Despite finishing with 18 points from their 14 matches, they could not secure a place in the top two because of their lesser net run-rate in comparison to table-toppers Mumbai and second-placed Chennai Super Kings.
Hyderabad, on the other hand, were lucky to qualify for the playoffs with only 12 points, which made them the first team in IPL history to make it to the top four with 12 points.
The winner of the match will play Chennai Super Kings, who lost against Mumbai Indians in the first Qualifier, at same venue in Qualifier 2 on Friday.
Delhi Capitals to Meet Chennai Super Kings in Qualifiers
Keemo Paul held his nerve to hit a boundary of the penultimate delivery to steer Delhi Capitals home. After this win, Delhi Capitals will now go on to play Chennai Super Kings in the second qualifier on Friday in Vizag.
Meanwhile, Sunrisers Hyderabad end their IPL 2019 campaign with this loss.
