Shikhar Dhawan played a matured knock of 56 runs and along with skipper Sheyas Iyer’s 58* played a key role in helping Delhi Capitals beat Kings XI Punjab by 5 wickets at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium on Sunday 20, April.

Amidst the high voltage Ashwin tried to ‘Mankad’ Delhi batsman Shikhar Dhawan. However, the way he reacted to became the talking point of the match.

During the 13th over of the chase, Ashwin, who was about to deliver his second delivery, stopped mid-way through his run-up, retraced back and looked towards Dhawan, who was looking to move out of his crease. As the off-spinner went back to take his run-up, the Delhi opener sat down on one knee and looked at Ashwin.

IPL’s official website shared the video of the tweet.

However, what happened after that was something which left the viewers in splits. As Ashwin bowled the delivery to Shreyas Iyer, Dhawan taunted the KXIP skipper by shaking with his bat rooted inside the crease and showing his dance moves. He suggested that he was going out of the crease but his bat was inside all along.

Ashwin received a lot of criticism after he ‘Mankaded’ Josh Buttler in their very first match of the season.

Since then the batsmen have become more cautious about leaving their crease before Ashwin bowling his delivery.

Before Dhawan, SRH batsmen David Warner also tried to outfox the Punjab skipper.
