Once again, Bangladesh’s cricket fans’ creativity with Photoshop has rubbed their Indian counterparts the wrong way.
This time though, the ‘joke’ may have been taken a bit too far.
An image of Bangladeshi fast bowler Taskin Ahmed carrying the severed head of the Indian skipper MS Dhoni is currently doing the round of social media. This, on the eve of India’s Asia Cup final against Bangladesh.
The team is currently in Dhaka, preparing for tomorrow’s final. Here’s what Team Director Ravi Shastri said when asked if the he had seen the image.
I don’t read newspapers. You all read them, we will go and play our match. We are not in the habit of reading papers, during a match. You read the papers and make your own assessments, our job is to get out there and play cricket.
This, of course is not the first time the country’s fans or even the media have targeted the visiting team.
Just last year, during the summer ODI series, a newspaper published the above photo after the Indians batsmen had had trouble with a young Mustafizur Rahman’s ‘cutters’.
