The 2018 Sultan Azlan Shah Cup starts in Ipoh, Malaysia, on Saturday, where India will look to improve on their third-place finish in the previous edition.
The six-team tournament features World No 1 Australia, Rio Olympics champions Argentina, defending champion England, Ireland and hosts Malaysia, besides India.
The tournament is played in the round-robin format where each team plays the other once and the top two at the end of the league stage qualify for the final.
The Indian team, led by Sardar Singh, will play their first match against World Number two Argentina on 3 March at 1.30pm.
