The hockey men’s World Cup – the 14th edition of the prestigious tournament – is set to kick-off in Bhubaneswar on 28 November. The International Hockey Federation (FIH) and the host nation Hockey India (HI) will be responsible for the organising the 19-day tournament.
Host India has only won the World Cup title once, way back in 1975 while Pakistan is the most successful team at the tournament, having the lifted the trophy four times. Australia – who defeated Netherlands 6-1 in the 2014 WC final in Hague – will enter the tournament as defending champions.
