Hockey lovers across Asia rejoice. The Asia Cup is finally here. The tournament will be held from 11 to 22 October, and will be titled the ‘Hero Asia Cup 2017’.
The 10th edition of the quadrennial event will take place at the Maulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium in Dhaka, returning to Bangladesh for the first time since 1985. India, playing as favourites in the tournament, will take on Japan in the opening game on Wednesday, 18 October.
Group A of the tournament will be interesting to look at, with the likes of India placed with arch-rivals Pakistan, host nation Bangladesh, and Japan.
