After his Ferrari idol Kimi Raikkonen crashed out of the Spanish Grand Prix, a sobbing six-year-old was broadcasted worldwide.

The 2007 world champion and one of the sport's most popular drivers, Raikkonen collided on the opening lap with Red Bull's 2016 race winner Max Verstappen and was forced to retire.

As the television cameras panned around the crowd, they picked out the tearful face of little Thomas Danel, who was then bought to the exclusive paddock with his family to meet Raikkonen.

Raikkonen signed a Ferrari cap for Danel, who later watched the podium celebrations of Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel finishing second.

Danel, who had travelled with his parents from French city of Amiens, seemed super excited after meeting his idol.

How cute is that?
