Importance of Spinners in T20 Cricket

On being asked about how spinners fit in the scope of T20 cricket, Sundar had a reasonable response to how spinners can impact a game in T20.

“Definitely spinners have a big role to play in the shortest form of cricket, because they take the pace of the ball. Sometimes pitches can also give assistance to the spinners as well,” said Sundar.

“It is all about knowing what to do and knowing where the batsman will look after hitting you. You will get hit badly in few games, but that happens in this format of the game. Spinners have a very big role in this format.”

‘The Bowling Unit Did a Good Job’

Sundar was proud of how the Indian bowlers responded to pressure from the Bangladeshi batters. The pitch at Rajkot was looking good for 180 runs, but the Indian bowling attack managed to restrict Bangladesh for just 153 runs.

Sundar said, "To be honest, wicket was very beautiful and the bounce and the carry was really good. We thought 180 was par. “

“We would have liked to get 180-190 if we had batted first, but to have restricted them for 153, I think we as a bowling unit did a very good job.”
