Mohammed Shami’s wife Hasin Jahan has accused the fast bowler of domestic violence and adultery in social media posts but the bowler has rebutted the claims, calling them "baseless".

All the allegations of domestic violence (by my wife) against me are baseless. I will talk to you, once I know everything.
Mohammed Shami

Shami expressed that he thought everything was fine between him and his wife until he was accused of domestic violence.

When it comes to the relationship, if you see, she posted a picture of us celebrating Holi on social media and we did shopping together after I came back from South Africa. There is someone else behind this, no one can make such a big case quickly.

The speedster said his wife didn’t pick up his call when he tried to call her, but he spoke to his father-in-law.

I tried to speak to my wife, but she didn’t pick up my call. I spoke to my father-in-law, who spoke to me nicely. Hopefully, this gets sorted out quickly. I am the same person that I have been all this while. I want to maintain my relationship with my wife.

Shami has played 30 Tests for India, claiming 110 wickets so far. The injury-prone bowler has appeared in 50 ODIs and seven Twenty20 Internationals, picking up 91 and eight wickets respectively.

The cricketer from Uttar Pradesh, who plays for Bengal, was recently in the spotlight when he was subjected to abuse on social media for posting pictures with his wife. Trolls had called Jahan's outfits in the photos inappropriate.
