Pakistan cricket captain Sarfraz Ahmed is back in his home country after being suspended for four international matches by the ICC for his racist remarks during a match against South Africa.

In the second ODI against the Proteas in Durban, the stump mic caught Ahmed sledging Andile Phehlukwayo and saying, "Abey kaale, teri ammi aaj kahaan baitheen hain? Kya parwa ke aaye hai aaj (Hey black guy, where's your mother sitting today? What have you got her to say for you today)?".

While the cricketer apologised to Phehlukwayo the next day, he was also reprimanded the ICC. However, it is the PCB’s decision to call Ahmed back home from the tour that has received heavy criticism.

In a veiled reply to his critics, Ahmed posted the below video on his Twitter account.

The young boy in the video can be seen reciting a poem which roughly translates to - “Look for the positives in yourself, there are others who are there to pick out your weaknesses. Always take the next step forward, there are many to pull you back. Dream big, there are others who will pull you down. Light the fire in yourself, there are others to feel jealous of you.’

Ahmed landed back in Pakistan on Tuesday and told the local media that he was thankful to the PCB for the manner in which they handled the case.

"It was a mistake and I have learnt from it," Sarfraz also told reporters.
