Mumbai’s prodigy Prithvi Shaw scored his fifth first-class century on Day 1 of the Ranji Trophy match against Andhra Pradesh in Ongole on Friday. The opening batsman, who batted for 173 balls, struck 14 boundaries and one six during his innings.

Even though wickets tumbled around him, Shaw didn’t lose his concentration and continued to battle against the bowlers.

Shaw strung a partnership of 125 runs with Siddhesh Lad for the fourth wicket before falling to speedster Bandaru Ayyappa in the 61st over of the day.

Despite of Shaw’s century, Mumbai ended Day 1 on a precarious score of 248/6 with Abhishek Nayar and Abhishek Nayar at the crease.
