In the auction on Saturday, Kings XI Punjab went all guns blazing with their owners bidding for almost all marquee players. Their table was one of the most busy places in the first half of the auction.

Their pick of the day was Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin whom they bought for Rs 7.6 crore. Later, they bought Yuvraj Singh at his base price of Rs 2 crore, which was kind of a great bargain.

They ended up buying K L Rahul for Rs 11 crore, who was the joint most expensive Indian players along with Manish Pandey.

After an eventful first half, the team was quieter bunch after the lunch.

At the end of the first day, Kings XI Punjab ended up buying nine players, including three foreigners.

Day two of the auction was equally busy for the Punjab outfit. They bought eleven more players, which included Windies superstar Chris Gayle.

In an entertaining second half of the day, Gayle, who went unsold for the second time in the auction on Sunday, was finally lapped up by Kings XI Punjab for Rs 2 crore.

Gayle was brought back into the auction for the second time after teams made a request at the fag end of the day.
